Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about connecting with IKEv2

What are my VPN credentials?

Your IKEv2 credentials are your PrivyNet account email address and your account password - the same ones you use to log in to the dashboard. No separate VPN account or certificate is needed.

Where do I find my server address?

Log in to your PrivyNet dashboard. Your dedicated server address (hostname) is shown on the main dashboard screen. Copy it and paste it into the Server and Remote ID fields when configuring your device.

What ports does IKEv2 use?

IKEv2/IPsec uses UDP ports 500 and 4500. These are standard VPN ports that are allowed through most firewalls and corporate networks.

Why does the VPN reconnect automatically when I change networks?

IKEv2 includes built-in MOBIKE support, which seamlessly re-establishes the tunnel when you switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. No manual reconnection needed.

Can I use IKEv2 and VLESS on the same node?

Yes. Your PrivyNet node supports both IKEv2 and VLESS simultaneously. You can connect from different devices using either protocol - they share the same server address but operate independently.

What if my connection fails?

Ensure you are using your full account email (including the @domain.com part) as the username. Double-check the server address is correct with no extra spaces. UDP ports 500 and 4500 must not be blocked on your network.
